Member Benefits

education

The guild will have a mixture of Zoom and in-person meetings/programs during the year 2024/2025. Our Program Committee has scheduled exciting presentations and in-person workshops both in the fall and spring. Please take a look at our Programs Page and our Workshops Page for descriptions, presenter bios and dates/times.

Phyllis Morway Scholarship Fund

In 2015, HWBC established a scholarship to help interested members attend the bi-annual MidAtlantic Fiber Association (MAFA) Conference. In 2016, the scholarship was named in memory of our past president, Phyllis Morway.

The Phyllis Morway Scholarship Fund amount is the cost of one registration fee divided equally among those members participating and requesting the scholarship.

In return, recipients are asked to give a brief presentation to the membership during a subsequent meeting to share what they have learned at the conference, or write an article for our guild newsletter about your MAFA experience.

Honorary Membership

A Honorary Lifetime Membership is free to any member at least 80 years of age who has been a member in good standing for the previous 10 years.
